Installation sheet - printable - PDF 515K

Please take your time with the initial fitting of your Carbra.
If fitted correctly the first time the reapplication of you Carbra will be completed quicker when next required.

Installation HINTS:
Place Carbra in the sun prior to fitting as this will "soften" the vinyl making it easier to fit.
Ensure all the surfaces where the Velcro is required are clean and free of dust, dirt, and oil.
Ensure the front of your vehicle is clean AND dry prior to fitting the Carbra

Before Installing:
Lay the Carbra flat with the felt side facing upwards.
You may notice a "pocket" with Velcro fasteners sewn inside.
If you have a "pocket", this MUST be fitted under the bonnet.

  • Lay Carbra flat with the felt facing up.

  • Cut the supplied additional Velcro into 2cm strips

  • Place cut Velcro onto sewn Velcro inside "pocket" leaving the self-adhesive backing in place.

  • Open and secure Bonnet

  • Place Carbra Felt side down on top of bonnet

  • Position bonnet inside the "pocket"

  • Remove self-adhesive Velcro backing and press to underside of Bonnet.

  • Close bonnet carefully ensuring the sides of the Carbra are not in the way.

  • Pull Carbra over the front of the bonnet and down over licence plate and bumper.
  • Ensure no major creases are evident between Bonnet and side guards.
  • If major creases are evident you may have to readjust the bonnet inside the "pocket".
Using the metal tabs on wheel arches of the Carbra:
  • Bend the metal tabs around wheel arches close to the vinyl.
  • Alternating between vehicle wheel arches, bend tabs to inside edge of wheel arch (this will ensure even fit).
  • If fitted, secure top and bottom tabs with the Velcro supplied to wheel arch (this is not on all Carbra types).

Using the metal tabs on the bottom of the Carbra:
  • Secure to any existing fixing points on underside of air dam / bumper by bending tabs on Car Bra into place.
  • If no fixing points, use Velcro supplied to secure tabs.
  • Make sure the licence plate, head lights and any fog lights match up to the Carbra.

When fitted correctly your Carbra should be free of all major creases.
If major creases are evident adjust the metal tabs to tighten / loosen the Carbra.

NOTE: Readjustment of the Carbra may be required 2 or 3 times as the Carbra "moulds" to the shape of the vehicle.

Cleaning Instructions:
Whilst the Carbra is on the vehicle simply wash the vinyl with warm water and a mild detergent.

To clean the underside (felt side) of the Carbra, remove it from the vehicle and hang on clothes line. Hose off the dirt and dust. Dry the vinyl side with a soft cloth. It is also recommended to hang the Carbra in the sunshine (say, over a clothes line) to allow a good airing and drying.

Ensure the Carbra is COMPLETELY DRY before placing it back into the storage bag or back onto the vehicle.
To keep your Carbra like new, use a vinyl protecting spray.
